How do order pick-up/delivery timeslots work?
By default, your online ordering site offers 15-minute timeslots. If, via your back office, you indicate that your restaurant’s delivery hours (or pick-up hours for takeaways, since the two are dissociable) extend, for example, from 11:30 to 14:30, the customer can choose a reasonably precise time during this period:
- 11:30
- 11:45
- 12:00
- 12:15
- 12:30
- etc.
The customer thus has a choice of times and can choose one to the nearest 15 minutes. This is the standard feature offered by LivePepper.
Configure your time slots to facilitate your organization
However, the way in which your business works may involve delivering several orders in one continuous circuit within your delivery hours. To organize your activity in line with your needs, LivePepper lets you remove the possibility of choosing a precise timeslot, and instead propose longer time slots. So instead of choosing a precise, 15-minute timeslot between 11:30 and 14:30, customers on your online ordering site will choose from several longer time slots, e.g.:
- 11:30 – 12:30
- 12:30 – 13:30
- 13:30 – 14:30
By setting up time slots in this way, you have one hour to deliver and organize your delivery. You can therefore make a number of deliveries within this extended time slot: this setup give you greater freedom. This feature is a bespoke solution (i.e. an optional extra) not included in the standard template. Contact the LivePepper team to learn more about longer time slots and adapt your site to the way you work.
