The LivePepper online ordering site and your domain name

Your domain name serves to identify your website. Regardless of whether or not you already have a domain name, LivePepper adapts to every situation when setting up online ordering sites.

How to host your LivePepper online ordering site on a domain name

If you already have a domain name and you want your online ordering site to replace your current site:

There are two possibilities:

  • You can either transfer your domain name to LivePepper, who will take care of its configuration and renewal (this is the option that we recommend).
  • Or you can configure your domain name so that it points to LivePepper’s servers. In this case, you must renew your domain name before it expires.

If you already have a domain name and you want to integrate your online ordering site into your current site:

Here, the pages dedicated to your online ordering site will be hosted on a “technical” domain name. For example, if you want to retain your current site, whose address is londonpizza.com, the address of the online ordering site will be: londonpizza-orders.com

You then simply add a link to your online ordering site on your homepage.

If you do not have a domain name:

LivePepper will take care of reserving and renewing the domain name of your choice. Simply send us your chosen domain name, once you have made sure it is available.

LivePepper manages your domain name

Based on our experiences, we now systematically advise our customers to transfer their domain name to LivePepper, who will effectively and manage it in a professional manner. If, for whatever reason, you decide to shut down your online ordering site, LivePepper will freely retransfer your domain name.

Examples of situations we have dealt with:

  • One of our customers acquired an existing restaurant. The previous owner did not inform him that the restaurant site’s domain name needed to be renewed. A few days after this domain name expired, the online ordering site was de-activated. To re-activate it, the new owner had to pay a penalty fee of €150 exc. VAT to the hoster of the domain name. This customer has since transferred his domain name to LivePepper, who automatically take care of its renewal.
  • One of our customers managed the configuration of his domain name himself. Following an invalid operation, the site stopped working, whereas the owner had already sent out a flyer campaign with the site’s address. He had to make an emergency call to LivePepper who restored the configuration, but the site was down for several hours.
